  • Description

Very nice original 101st. Airborne personal item in good condition from a vet's estate. I wish my wallets held up this well. It shows only minor signs of wear, such as darkening, slight creasing and the snap on the coin holder has some blue/green corrosion (see photos). Also included in the wallet is an aviation student club ID card (305th College Training Detachment). It is dated January of 1944. This unit took part in the drop over Normand, the low countries, and later into Germany.  On the top of the card, the owner wrote a note to himself "lugar 2227." My guess is that he brought back a luger and made a note of the serial number. Here is a link to a little more information on the owner of the wallet. He also brought back a nice German pump flashlight. On the other side of the card, there is a handwritten address. The wallet is marked "Justin saddle leather".
