This box is an exact copy of an original. But try finding an original with an intact rack on the inside; not saying it doesn't happen but most were gutted so the box could hold other items. Much time and research went into this project and the results were well worth the effort. This box has been sprayed black like many German munitions boxes of this time period. Also available is this same box that is not painted black but in plain wood with black stamping. These boxes are fitted with great reproduction hardware that is manufactured locally and made just for use on these boxes. These latches are not modern stock from Europe that look kinda like the old stuff, these are new made reproductions that look exactly like the old stuff.

Each box is of the highest possible quality and authenticity; they are sturdy, strong, and nearly identical to originals. That being said it must also be said that these boxes are NOT perfect. They are made just like the originals and, well, not everyone who put the originals together were experienced cabinet makers nor were these intended to be finished like fine, high end, cabinet work.

This would be an excellent addition to your collection for showing off your German hardware in museums and at public displays. Just the box itself makes for some great eye candy to show off in your camp or hobby room.
